Stop Amazon on Kaua’i

Aloha r/Kauai

Posting because this proposed Amazon facility near Līhuʻe Airport / Ahukini Business Park is moving forward fast, and a lot of residents/businesses still don’t even know it’s happening. Or if they do they only found out a few months ago thanks to Civil Beat investigative reporting.

Why city council didn’t sound the alarm I’m not sure. Rep. Nadine K. Nakamura and her office confirmed the project isn’t finalized yet.

Here’s the petition (it also includes a full contact list for who people can email/call):

The biggest issue for a lot of residents and small businesses isn’t just the project itself — it’s the way it’s been handled. The shell company to push it through with no mention of Amazon. If this is truly a big benefit for Kauaʻi, it shouldn’t have moved forward in a way that left so many people out of the conversation.

If you support it, that’s your right — I’m not here to argue with anyone.

But it’s fair to call for a public hearing and full transparency before anything becomes final, especially with the potential long-term impacts to local infrastructure, traffic/safety, and the small business economy.
