Transitioning out of photography

Hello everyone. As the title states, I’m looking into transitioning out of photography as a job to pursue a completely different field of work. As of late, it’s been tough for me to find consistent work, and it’s been taking a toll on me mentally. I been trying to find a full time photo gig, but those are scarce and there are hundreds of applicants on every listing. I got pretty close to getting hired to a couple of them, but got rejected or they hired someone internally.

I been at this for a while, and have had some success’s that kept me motivated. But as I’m getting older, I need to find something more stable. I know it’s wrong, but I can’t help but feel like I’m a failure.

For those of you who left photography, what was your tipping point? Also, What field of work did you end up going to?

Thank you
