Does Nikon hate us?|

I started with D5500 on F-mount (gifted to me by father in law) and last year moved to Z50 II which is Z mount. I have an FTZ adapter but decided to adopt Z lenses to try and reduce overall weight of my setup as I shoot.

I'm not a professional and I'm totally a noob only taking photos of my family, so I don't expect to be Nikon's prime target audience.

However I can't help but ask: does Nikon hate its customers? I hate how there's so little choice on the Z-mount, and when I read about Nikon going after competition in litigation because they made z-mount without licenses, it grinds my gears!

As a consumer I want choice and if Nikon don't want to compete in a free market then they're in the wrong industry. I'm tempted to switch to a competing APS-C Sony A6000 series model where there is more variety and choice.

I read apparently Nikon will likely brick the Viltrox lenses via firmware update if they win their case - this will just be a nail in the coffin in my view if they did this to their customers.
