Long lasting but affordable perfumes? Or maybe tips on how to have scents last longer?

I feel like I’m asking a lot but I don’t have much $ but like to smell good, usually I use bath and body sprays but since they’re not long lasting I tend to go through a lot of them in less than a year.

Maybe it’s 100% user error but it seems like every scent fades quickly when I put it on. I’ve tried the Vaseline hack but it just makes me feel oily without the benefit of the perfume scent.

I understand my budget ($20) might not have anything in that range that is capable of holding a scent all day but I’d figure maybe someone has recommendations?
