Update: Leaning Towards Hen

I posted here a month ago concerned that my favorite chicken was looking like a rooster. Jury is still out, but I'm staring to think Lil Shit is just a dominant hen. It's a sapphire gem, so roosters should have barred neck feathers. Her feather coloring is looking like that of a hen. She's big boned and a chonk compared to the other 3 sapphire gems. One of the "americauna" (easter egger) chicks we got has turned out to be a suspect rooster. Luckily, Lil Shit is a unit and knocks the roo back in line when he starts spats with the rest of the flock. Keeping my fingers crossed for eggs out of this chonky chicken in the next couple months.
